Maren Jenner

Meet my first author interviewee, Maren Jenner!

I am so grateful to be given this chance to have her for an interview. This is just a fun casual get-to-know-the-author, Q & A.

About Maren

Maren and her family live in Michigan where her favourite summer pastime is spending time on the lakes and beaches. When she’s not beach hopping she’s either writing or reading a book. (A habit we authors tend to share!)

Maren has several books out, including two new releases this spring! She already has one complete trilogy out, (Sweet Nothings) plus two more partial series. Wrighting The Wrongs series follows four brothers, and the Shafted series are steamy, in-elevator novellas, following different couples that get stuck in a hotel’s elevator outage.

The Penthouse Hotshot releases March 28th! & The Wrong Idea, is set to drop April 15th.

Sebastian had the wrong idea about Calliope, and now he wants to make it right.

Calliope Harrison has enough on her plate, trying to get through college under the scrutiny of her overbearing father. She doesn’t need his TA, Sebastian Wrighting, analyzing her every move as well. Sebastian is the most arrogant man she’s ever met. He and the stick up his you-know-what are perfect for each other.

Sebastian may be lacking in certain social areas, but he is an excellent judge of character. All the evidence he’s gathered has determined that Calliope is a spoiled brat and deserves the tight rein his mentor, Professor Harrison, keeps on her.

As their paths continue to cross, every encounter gives them tantalizing glimpses into what the other person is truly like. The more they learn, the more they want to know. When Sebastian takes the first step toward bridging the gap, Callie chooses to meet him halfway. Maybe they can prove that two wrongs really can make a right.

This is book 2 in a series of standalone contemporary open door romances that follow four brothers. The Wrong Idea will be released on April 15, 2025

Q & A

‘Cause we are nosy as hell, and want to get some insider info!

Q: What was your favourite scene to write and why?

A: All of the scenes on Mackinac Island. It’s one of my favorite places to visit. I hadn’t been in years so my best friend and I took a day trip there and did all the things. I got to use some real life experience and made the whole setting that much more concrete.

Q: What inspired you to write romance?

A: I’ve always been a romantic. I grew up on Disney movies and musicals and reading everything I could get my hands on, but romances were my favorite. I gotta have my happy ever after!

Q: What are you reading right now?

A: My next book on my TBR is Pucking Sweet by Emily Rath. I loved the other two in the series!

Q: Who was your favourite character to write and why (in any book)?

A: Avery in the Sweet Nothings trilogy is my favorite. Her book is The Cupcake Standard, but she was a staple throughout the series. She has a quick mind and is very quirky, with just the right amount of sass.

Q: Which book challenged you the most? (if you have more than one.)

A: The second book in that trilogy, The Jellybean Dilemma, was my most challenging. The FMC was one of the characters I related to the least with her upbringing and hangups, plus that storyline required a tightrope walk for the tension in their arcs. I ended up loving it though.

Q: What does your writing process look like?

A: I’m a pantser all the way. I get an idea of a character or a scene, then sit back and watch the story unfold like a movie in my head. Any time I try to outline, the story goes off the rails. So I’ve learned to just let the story come. I know I’ll have to go back and flesh it out more after I’ve become better acquainted with the characters.
